Chess Acuity is built to be private by design. It collects no personal data, and everything it does happens on your device.

What the app collects

Nothing. Chess Acuity does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. It has no user accounts, no sign-in, and no server that your data is sent to.

On-device processing

Chess Acuity is an offline, on-device app. The Stockfish engine is bundled inside the app and runs entirely on your iPhone. Positions you set up, games you import, and any analysis you run stay on your device.

The “set up from a photo” feature uses on-device board recognition. Photos you use for this are processed locally on your iPhone and are not uploaded anywhere.

No analytics, accounts, or third-party SDKs

There is no analytics or telemetry of any kind. The app contains no advertising and no third-party software development kits (SDKs) that would collect data about you or your device.

Data sharing and selling

Because the app collects no data, there is nothing to share, sell, or disclose to anyone — including us.

GDPR and your rights

Chess Acuity processes no personal data, so there is no personal data to access, correct, export, or delete. If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, the rights granted under the GDPR concern personal data that a service processes — since this app processes none, those requests do not apply.

Children's privacy

The app is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.

This website (chessacuity.com) uses no cookies, no analytics, and no tracking scripts. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to. The site is hosted on Vercel, whose servers may keep standard, short-lived request logs for security and reliability; the site itself sets no identifiers and runs no third-party scripts.
